DIGITEC D3 DataHub Live at Four Top-Tier FX Banks

DIGITEC has launched D3 DataHub, a managed market data distribution platform designed to simplify how banks and financial institutions connect to multiple market data providers through a single interface, reducing one of the most persistent operational challenges facing electronic trading desks.

The platform is already being piloted by four global foreign exchange trading banks and provides access to market data from providers including 24X, LMAX Group, New Change FX, SGX FX and Swaps Data Feed, the service jointly developed by DIGITEC and 360T. Additional data providers are expected to be added over time.

While the announcement introduces another product to DIGITEC’s multi-asset technology suite, it also reflects a broader trend across capital markets as banks seek to simplify increasingly complex market data infrastructure while reducing integration costs and accelerating access to new liquidity and pricing sources.

Market Data Has Become An Integration Challenge

Access to high-quality market data is fundamental to modern electronic trading, but connecting to multiple providers remains an operational burden for many financial institutions.

Historically, banks have built separate integrations for each exchange, liquidity venue or data provider they consume. Each connection typically requires its own technical implementation, ongoing maintenance, testing and monitoring, creating additional costs every time a trading desk adds a new pricing source.

As firms expand into additional asset classes and connect to more execution venues, those point-to-point integrations become increasingly difficult to maintain, particularly when providers use different protocols, message formats and operational standards.

D3 DataHub is designed to address that challenge by standardising provider-specific data feeds and distributing them through DIGITEC’s D3 FIX protocol. Instead of developing multiple individual integrations, clients connect once to D3 DataHub and gain access to a growing network of supported market data providers.

A Managed Service Rather Than Another Feed

Beyond simplifying connectivity, DIGITEC has positioned D3 DataHub as a managed service rather than simply another market data gateway.

The platform includes monitoring, redundancy and operational support, allowing firms to outsource much of the day-to-day management associated with maintaining multiple external market data connections.

That approach reflects a wider shift across capital markets technology, where banks increasingly look to managed infrastructure providers to reduce operational complexity while allowing internal technology teams to focus on trading applications and client-facing services instead of maintaining connectivity.

“Historically, banks and financial institutions built and maintained separate integrations for each market data provider, resulting in increased implementation costs, longer onboarding times and ongoing operational complexity,” said Marco Kuper, Chief Product Officer at DIGITEC.

“D3 DataHub addresses this challenge, reducing the burden of onboarding by providing connectivity through a single, standardised layer that enables clients to connect once to access multiple market data providers through a common interface.”

Designed For FX Trading Desks

The initial focus of D3 DataHub is the foreign exchange market, where pricing engines increasingly consume data from multiple liquidity providers, benchmark providers and trading venues to support pricing, execution and risk management.

According to DIGITEC, the platform integrates with its D3 Pricing engine while also supporting downstream applications that rely on consistent market data distribution.

“Purpose-built for FX trading desks, D3 DataHub is already in use at four top-tier FX banks,” said Radhika Bindiganavile, Product Manager for Market Data at DIGITEC.

“It provides scalable architecture as clients add more data sources and is designed to integrate with our D3 Pricing engine and other downstream applications.”

Part Of A Broader Platform Strategy

The launch continues DIGITEC’s strategy of expanding its technology ecosystem beyond pricing engines into broader workflow and infrastructure services.

Earlier this year, the company introduced D3 Channels, a workflow solution designed to automate FX swaps pricing processes for liquidity providers. Together with D3 Pricing, D3 OMS and its market data services, the company is building a more integrated platform spanning pricing, execution support and market data distribution.

The strategy reflects growing demand from banks for technology platforms that reduce the number of individual vendors and interfaces required to operate electronic trading businesses efficiently.

Reducing Time To Market

One of the principal advantages of the platform is expected to be faster onboarding when firms decide to add new market data providers.

Instead of completing separate technical projects for every new connection, institutions can leverage an existing interface and operational framework, shortening implementation timelines while reducing testing and support requirements.

For banks competing in electronic foreign exchange markets, where access to pricing, liquidity and reference data can directly influence execution quality and trading performance, reducing the operational burden of connectivity has become an increasingly important technology priority.

The launch of D3 DataHub reflects that broader industry direction. Rather than treating market data connectivity as a series of individual integrations, providers are increasingly packaging it as managed infrastructure, allowing trading firms to connect once and access an expanding ecosystem of market data sources through a common technology layer.
