Revolut Offers ChatGPT Go Free to Millions of Paid Customers

Which Revolut Customers Get ChatGPT Go?

Revolut has partnered with OpenAI to offer ChatGPT Go to millions of retail customers, adding the artificial intelligence subscription to the digital services included with its banking plans.

The offer begins on Thursday for most paid subscribers, while eligible Standard and Plus customers are expected to receive promotional access over the coming weeks. The length of the free subscription depends on the customer’s Revolut membership tier.

Ultra subscribers, who pay £55 per month in the UK, will receive 12 months of ChatGPT Go for themselves and a separate 12-month Buddy pass for one guest. Metal customers, whose plan costs £14.99 per month, will also receive 12 months of access.

Premium, Revolut Pro and Revolut Mobile subscribers will receive six months. Standard and Plus customers will qualify for three months on a promotional basis.

ChatGPT Go normally costs £7 per month in the UK. Based on that price, a 12-month subscription would be worth £84, while six months would be worth £42 and three months would be worth £21. The Ultra Buddy pass could double the value for customers who use the additional subscription.

What Does ChatGPT Go Add To Revolut’s Plans?

ChatGPT Go sits between OpenAI’s free service and its higher-priced subscriptions. It offers larger usage allowances than a free account, along with file uploads, document analysis, image generation and memory features powered by GPT-5.6 models.

Those tools could extend the practical value of Revolut’s paid plans beyond banking. Customers may use the service to review documents, plan travel, generate images, study new subjects or complete work-related tasks without paying for a separate AI subscription during the promotional period.

“We want to empower our customers with tools that are part of their entire day, beyond finance,” said Tara Massoudi, partner and general manager for premium products at Revolut.

Massoudi said the partnership removes “the burden of fragmented monthly bills” while giving customers access to productivity tools that have become part of everyday routines.

Revolut already bundles services covering travel, transport, health, fitness, learning and entertainment. The company estimates that the benefits available through its subscription portfolio have a combined value of about £4,000 per year, though the amount a customer actually saves depends on which services they use.

Investor Takeaway

Revolut is using AI access to make its paid plans harder to replace with basic bank accounts. The commercial test is whether customers value ChatGPT Go enough to upgrade, retain their subscriptions or use Revolut more frequently after the free period ends.

Why Is Revolut Bundling AI With Banking?

The agreement strengthens Revolut’s strategy of competing through subscriptions rather than relying only on payments, cards and foreign exchange services. By including third-party digital products, the fintech can present its plans as broader consumer memberships rather than conventional bank account packages.

This model can support recurring revenue and reduce cancellations if customers regularly use several included services. ChatGPT Go may be particularly useful because it covers a wide range of activities rather than a single category such as airport lounges, fitness or entertainment.

The tiered offer also gives Revolut a tool for differentiating its plans. Customers on Premium or lower tiers receive shorter access periods, while Metal and Ultra subscribers receive a full year. That structure may encourage upgrades from customers who already pay for ChatGPT or expect to use AI tools regularly.

However, the long-term benefit will depend on what happens when the promotional access expires. Customers may need to begin paying OpenAI separately, lose access or receive another offer, depending on the final terms. Revolut will need to show that the rest of its subscription package remains valuable once the free AI period ends.

How Does The Partnership Fit OpenAI’s Distribution Strategy?

The deal gives OpenAI access to one of Europe’s largest fintech customer bases without requiring each user to purchase ChatGPT Go directly. Emmanuel Marill, OpenAI’s managing director for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, said the partnership would help more customers use AI for everyday activities, including travel planning and learning.

The companies already work together. Revolut uses OpenAI technology in products including its AIR in-app assistant, customer support tools and fraud-monitoring systems. The latest agreement expands that relationship from internal and customer-service applications to a consumer subscription benefit.

For OpenAI, partnerships with large consumer platforms can increase paid-product adoption and introduce users to features unavailable on free accounts. Revolut benefits by adding a recognizable service without building its own general-purpose AI product from the ground up.

The next measure of success will be customer use rather than the headline value of the offer. Strong activation rates could support Revolut’s premium subscription strategy and give OpenAI a larger base of customers who may continue paying after their promotional access expires.
